Roy DeCarava, Dancers, N.Y., 1956, signed silver print

Roy DeCarava (1919 – 2009) was an American photographer who came of age during the Harlem Renaissance. He photographed from the 1940s onward, in his own unique and sensitive style. Subjects included daily life in surrounding neighborhoods and the flourishing jazz scene. A retrospective exhibition was featured in 1996 at MoMA.


Beverly Rayner, Fevered Sleep, 1996

Beverly Rayner is a contemporary artist from CA that uses mixed media constructions. They are often built around photographic imagery and take on a wide variety of formats, often sculptural. She will also use any type of photographic process that serves her purpose for each work.

Bellevue Arts Museum 2021 Biennial: Architecture & Urban Design
Through April 24, 2022  
Eirik’s new Leviathan work is included at the Bellevue Arts Museum 2021 Biennial: Architecture & Urban Design.

King Street Station A Clearer View  up now through April 7.  An exhibition of the works that the City acquired from the Viaduct demo commission.

Our Blue Planet at the Seattle Art Museum, March 13 – May 30.  Eirik’s work from the Sawdust Mountain series, “Weyerhauser Sorting Yard along the Chehalis River” will be included in the exhibition.

Eirik’s Viaduct project work, Road to Nowhere will be featured in the recent Arcade magazine, Refraction 39.1 issue.  Amanda Knowles is also featured in the magazine, this issue will be available at Peter Miller books Thursday, March 3, from 5 to 7pm.

AMANDA KNOWLES
Amanda Knowles work will be featured in the recent Arcade magazine, Refraction 39.1 issue.  Eirik Johnson is also featured in the magazine, with an interview on his Viaduct project. This issue will be available at Peter Miller books Thursday, March 3, from 5 to 7pm.

Amanda’s work is featured this month in the faculty art show “Extracurricular III” at the NSC Art Gallery, March 14 – April 29

JOANN VERBURG
JoAnn Verburg is photographing olive groves in CA for the second year in a row.  We are very excited to see this new work. JoAnn’s earlier work of photographing this beautiful and atmospheric subject began in Spoleto, Italy, where she has lived for many years.

Later in March, Brooklyn Rail will have a 5 min “studio visit” video of JoAnn in the Ojai Olive Oil Co. orchard, date TBA
